In February 2010 we had our usual 6 monthly LRQA ISO 9001 audit and this was part of our 3 year certification renewal. We are now certified to the new ISO 9001 – 2008 standard. We first achieved the BS 5750 back in 1994 and our auditors have been LRQA throughout this period.
We have again won the British Safety Council International award for 2009. We have also again won the ECIA Safety Award for 2009.
2010 Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA) BEST award winners
Ellesmere Port based Laker Vent Engineering Limited was presented with the BEST award, for the second time in three years, at this year’s Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA's) prestigious Spring Ball held at the Victoria & Albert Museum London on the 27th March 2010. This national prestigious safety award is presented to the company which has best demonstrated compliance with the aims & values that BEST seeks.
Colin Ventre Laker Vent’s HSE & QA Director stated “that in receiving this prestigious award I must congratulate all of our employees for their hard work and dedication in the continuous promotion of our progressive safety culture”. Laker Vent’s priority is safety first from start to finish through all levels of our business.

We have also again won the ECIA Safety Award for 2008. We have won both awards on more than 12 occasions.
Laker Vent Engineering has just won the ECIA National Safety Award "BEST" for our safety performance during 2007, only one ECIA affiliated company in the UK can win this prestigious safety award and as such the Directors and Staff at Laker Vent Engineering are very proud of this achievement.

Best Stands for:
BEST invites ECIA member companies and projects to make formal commitment to action that generates substantial improvements in everyday behaviour by everyone involved in engineering construction and is particularly aimed at reducing the number of slips and trips that pervade our industry.
We also believe we are on target to win another British Safety Council award for 2007 and this will produce ten consecutive BSC awards.
